Start of apprenticeship program 2025 in Güglingen and Losenstein

Start of training in 2025

Güglingen/Losenstein, September 4, 2025. WEBER-HYDRAULIK GMBH is once again starting the year with a strong intake of trainees at its sites in Güglingen (Germany) and Losenstein (Austria). A total of 14 young people are beginning their professional careers at a company that has placed great emphasis on high-quality, future-oriented training for decades.

Wide range of professions and a new degree program in Güglingen

Nine young professionals are starting in Güglingen, including, for the first time, a dual student in the business administration program with a focus on marketing and sales, which is new to the training program. The training occupations include industrial mechanics, cutting machine operators, metal technology specialists, and industrial clerks.

In order to maintain the highest level of technical training, the company has invested in modern technology: a new Spinner TC800 CNC lathe with Siemens control system replaces older equipment and enables practical, state-of-the-art learning in the company’s own training center. “We attach great importance to offering our trainees high-quality, future-oriented training. This also includes teaching them how to use modern industrial and control technology at an early stage,” emphasizes Christopher Aldinger, training manager for industrial training at the Güglingen site.

Individual onboarding and award as an exemplary training company in Losenstein

In Losenstein, Austria, five apprentices have started their training in the fields of metal technology, machining technology, and mechatronics automation technology. A special feature this year is that, for the first time, experienced apprentices from higher apprenticeship years are taking on the induction. The training managers are particularly proud of the Ineo award for “Exemplary Training Company,” which the Losenstein site was able to secure again in 2025. “We place great emphasis on personal responsibility and practical experience. This year, our apprentices helped develop the training plan themselves – a concept that not only boosts motivation but also allows valuable feedback to be incorporated directly into the training,” explains training manager Stefan Gstöttenmayr.

In addition, Losenstein is actively addressing the shortage of skilled workers with innovative projects such as apprentice sports programs and school partnerships. One highlight is the partnership with the local middle school, where students gain their first insights into technical professions through CAD and design projects directly at the company.

Training as a strategic success factor

The WEBER SYSTEMS GROUP has been focusing on its own young talent for many years. Despite a shortage of skilled workers, challenging economic times, and difficult conditions, the company offers a wide range of training opportunities. Incentives such as vouchers, bonus payments for excellent school performance, or stays abroad in cooperation with vocational schools underscore the high value that training has always enjoyed in the family business.

One example of a successful career is Maurice Schürhagl, a former apprentice in the field of machining technology in Losenstein: after completing his training with distinction, an apprenticeship with a high school diploma, and a master craftsman’s examination, he is now a trainer himself and supports the current young talent in starting their careers. In the fall of 2025, he will also begin studying mechatronics at the University of Linz.
